Angelman Syndrome Collections Showcase
Joyce Penas Pilarsky will be unveiling her
2015 summer collections together with other designers from different parts of
the world at the first ever Angelman Syndrome Collections Showcase on April 25,
2015 at the Studio Arte, 265 West 37th Street, New York, NY 10018.
The Collections Showcase will provide a
launching pad for up and coming emerging designers. The aim is to exhibit to a
vibrant audience of consumers, fashionista’s and the press. Angelman Syndrome
is an extremely rare condition that is characterized by laughter, energetic
movement, hugs and a mutual fascination of all things shiny – including water.
Those with Angelman Syndrome will typically
have profound special needs, some physical disability, a significant lack of
verbal skills, sleep disturbance and epilepsy as well as other possible
complications. Angelman Syndrome does not reduce normal life expectancy but
those with the condition will always need round-the-clock care.
Proceeds will go to (FAST) Foundation for Angelman Syndrome
Therapeutics.

The founder of the FDC Collections
Showcase Joanna Marcella says, “I’m encouraged by Colin Farrell’s mission to raise more awareness about
Angelman Syndrome. As a celebrity he is able to catch the attention of the
media with the story of his own son. I to am extremely passionate about this
cause, so much so, I and three of my young award winners from the FDC Young
Designer Awards will be flying in to New York all the way from London, England
to produce this great event."
Proceeds will go to the charity (FAST)
Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics.
Joanna continues, "As a designer
and the relative of a little 'Angel' I and other members of the fashion
industry can use this showcase to raise funds for the research, which will lead
to treatments and eventually a cure.”
